OSA Recruitment 3v3 Football Festival Signals A New Era for Youth Football

OSA 3v3 preview promo

Over 190 Year 2 and Year 3 footballers will head to Victoria Park on Sunday 31st May, as the stadium prepares to host its inaugural OSA Recruitment 3v3 Football Festival. Sponsored by local recruitment specialist OSA, the festival will introduce young islanders to the FA’s new 3v3 initiative, designed to create a positive, engaging and competitive football experience for grassroots players.

From the 2026/27 season, 3v3 football will become the official entry format for Under-7 (U7) players, helping to give children the best possible start in football by maximising their involvement and enjoyment of the game. The FA’s move toward smaller-sided games is built on proven developmental benefits, including more touches on the ball, greater involvement in play, and increased opportunities to master core skills.

This format helps young players build confidence, improve faster, and most importantly, develop a genuine love for football.

Gary Roberts, CEO or Guernsey FA, said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing a new era of football to Victoria Park with our first OSA 3v3 Football Festival. Extensive research has shown that the 3v3 format encourages more physical activity and increases technical actions, leading to more touches on the ball and more active play for young players.

“These smaller-sided formats are already being used by clubs across Europe and are widely recognised as a fantastic way to evolve young players, so it’s great that we’re bringing them to Guernsey’s shores with OSA’s support.”

Nick Graham, CEO of OSA Recruitment said: “As a Founding Partner of Victoria Park we have really enjoyed seeing how much of a community hub the stadium has become – particularly through the opportunities and experiences it provides for children.”

“This 3v3 event is hugely exciting, so the more players of the future we can support, the better. We’re looking forward to a fantastic day of football and inspiring the next generation of Green Lions and Lionesses – we hope every player will have a fun day!”
